Chicago, Illinois-November 26, 2000-Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc. and Swissray International, Inc introduced three exciting new options for the ddR family of direct digital Radiography systems. The two new patient tables and the OrthoVision workstation are designed to integrate with the ddRMulti-System, ddRCombi and the new ddRModulaire.
New IGS Table Series
To be cost effective, digital radiography systems must use a single detector. This requirement creates a special challenge for patient positioning. To better meet this need, HMSA and Swissray have introduced two new tables.
The IGS2000 is a breakthrough table design that provides extraordinary positioning flexibility. This pedestal-based system allows head-to-toe horizontal coverage, tilts 90 degrees for upright imaging, pivots 90 degrees for decubitus exams and swings out of the way for chest radiography!
The IGS1000, using an equally ingenious design, combines the convenience of a 4-way floating top with the flexibility of a portable table. And this table supports a patient weight of over 400 pounds.
OrthoVision Workstation
OrthoVision is a package of clinical software tools optimized to meet the special requirements of orthopedic radiology. An important feature of this software is the ability to combine sequential images, enabling full length spine imaging for scoliosis studies. Other special capabilities include Cobb angle measurement, leg length studies and scanogram format.
These optional products and the new ddRModulaire system demonstrate the product development savvy that can only come with years of experience in providing direct digital radiography solutions for mainstream clinical use.
