Hitachi provides a wide variety of anatomically specific receiver coils rather than relying on general-purpose coils. Anatomically specific and flexible type coils increase signal-to-noise and therefore improve image quality. Hitachi’s Scalable Dual Quad RF technology provides high signal to noise for high temporal and spatial resolution imaging. Additionally, the vertical magnetic field used by every Hitachi Open MR system allows the use of solenoid coils, which produce an inherently higher SNR than the saddle coils used in horizontal field magnets. Responding to the specialized needs of today’s MR environment, HMSA has released three powerful coils for the Altaire which extend the imaging power of Open MR to their limits.
Recognizing recent research that suggests a dedicated peripheral vascular coil is required to deliver results comparable to conventional angiography, Hitachi is the first to deliver a dedicated peripheral vascular coil in an Open MR environment. The coil enables high resolution diagnostic imaging of the lower extremities including peripheral vascular structures. The 141cm total imaging area extends from the renal arteries to the medial plantar arteries. The open, patient friendly design provides operator convenience features, and each of the four anterior components can be individually removed for tailored coverage.
Taking advantage of the inherent flexibility of the Altaire, the neurovascular coil provides the solution for a range of applications including maxillofacial, soft tissue, intracranial, cervical and neurovascular imaging. Hitachi’s Scalable Dual Quad RF technology allows high resolution diagnostic imaging. Designed with two removable anterior sections, patient comfort is ensured with custom pades and a mirror. Multiple operation modes tailor signal for the desired application.
Recognizing the developing importance of MR breast imaging in oncology, HMSA’s multiple array breast coil goes beyond imaging. Biopsy and localization procedures are easily achievable as a result of the coil’s design and Altaire’s open environment. Optimal flexibility is afforded by the four channel design, providing unilateral and bilateral modes of operation. Sterilized plates enable compression and immobilization for biopsy procedures, while an adjustable head and neck support provides patient comfort.
