Twinsburg, Ohio - December 15, 2004 -- Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc. (HMSA) has announced the release of RTist, an advanced software package for use with AVIA, the operation system for the new SceptreP3 PET/CT system. RTist for AVIA, developed by the English software company Mirada Solutions, Ltd., will complement the multimodality fusion capabilities of SceptreP3 allowing precise contours based on fused data to be exported to a radiation therapy planning system.
“For PET-CT, the contouring of both functional and anatomic fused data significantly improves therapy planning,” explained Patricia Johnson, AVIA Product Manager for HMSA. “RTist allows fast and accurate contouring of tumors, and exports contours in DICOM RT format to therapy planning systems. In addition, RTist enhances communication between Radiology, Oncology and Radiation Therapy departments for better patient outcomes.”
Mirada Solutions Ltd., An Oxford, England based compnay, has developed advanced software packages for AVIA such as Fusion 7D and RTist. "We have a very successful partnership with Hitachi Medical Systems America. We look forward to the development of future software applications," stated Chris Behrenbruch, President of Mirada.
Sceptre P3 represents "The Power of Three in PET/CT." AVIA PACS architecture on Sceptre P3 allows true integration of all modalities. AVIA also includes Easy Route features to enable enhanced workflow. A full-featured viewing station, AVIA has recently been optimized for advanced MR applications, making AVIA well suited to meet multimodality imaging needs
