Twinsburg, Ohio – July 23, 2002 – Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc. (HMSA), announced that they have received FDA 510(k) clearance to market their new AVIA™ Multi-Modality Workstation with Fusion7D™ in the United States.
AVIA is designed for processing and viewing DICOM data from any diagnostic imaging modality. A unique blend of technologies provides a comprehensive library of visualization and quantitative analysis tools that have been seamlessly integrated with the revolutionary Fusion7D software.
“The AVIA workstation allows centralized diagnostic interpretation of discrete and/or fused images in display formats that are selected or customized by the user,” stated Raymond Wtulich, Marketing Manager for HMSA’s PET products. “We have introduced a flexible, multi-configuration platform that has been designed to integrate into existing clinical environments to improve interpretation workflow.”
Integrated Fusion7D software provides speed, flexibility and accuracy in clinical environments where multiple imaging modalities including MR and CT need to be incorporated with PET into the diagnostic evaluation. “Fusion7D provides an extensive toolkit of both modality and application specific algorithms designed to provide accuracy and improve physician confidence with electronic fusion”, continued Wtulich.
